Hi readers, this week we are your secret agent movie critics!

Last week we took ourselves away from the real world and zoned in on the new James Bond film, Spectre.

We went with Adam’s Mum, who we want to now call ‘Mummy-Penny’ because we felt like her special agents.

Our expectations were mixed. I (Adam) was anxious as would it stand up to the brilliant Skyall? I also wanted something that would draw me in in ‘spectre-acular’ way!

I (William) was really looking forward to it, in fact I just couldn’t wait to get in there.

Well, it was a very pleasant surprise. Not only did we both love every minute, we got really wrapped up in it, and connected so much with James Bond that we came away feeling we were 007 and had saved the world from Blofeld ourselves!

There was so much to like. The car chase was awesome, the gadgets were fantastic, even if the reverse gun wasn’t loaded (that’s karma for stealing Q’s car) and it was amazing to see Bond pull a plane out of thin air for another chase down the mountain.

What made it so real was getting to learn more about James Bond and his background. In the past we have thought of him as invincible but now it’s good to see him as a human being with feelings, and not afraid to show his emotions or suffering.

This takes us nicely into next week’s column, which is how we feel about the build up to Christmas – a time which often brings up all sorts of emotions for people. See you then and thanks for reading.
