Hi readers, it’s me, William. This week I want to talk about change. There have been many changes already this year. There are global ones like Brexit starting to happen and Donald Trump becoming American President.

Then there are Dorset ones like the NHS Consultation going on. We’ve also got changes happening at People First Dorset. We will shortly be recruiting for a new management committee of people with learning disabilities, who will help manage the charity. This is really exciting as it will ensure we stay user led. As much as I would like to be on it, I am not putting myself forward because I am already too busy! The good news is that many others are keen to get involved.

We are also making changes here too, with our column. Adam is now stepping down as co-writer as he would like to give others a chance to have a go at writing the column. Although I will miss writing with him, I think it is a good idea and extremely kind of Adam to give others this opportunity.

So there is not too much change here, I will continue to write the weekly column. Moving forward, expect to see guest writers contributing to the column. I hope you will enjoy hearing other people’s views too.

I would like to say a huge thank you to Adam for all his hard work, clever ideas, wonderful wit and thoughtful insights which he has brought to the column – and which has made ‘Our View’ the success it is today. What’s more, writing this column has enabled us to become really good friends, and we will continue to meet up with each other.

Tune in next week to hear my thoughts about Valentine’s Day!
