YOUNG award-winning guitarist/harmonicist Kelly Oliver is making her mark by gaining great acclaim and numerous support slots and appearances up and down the country.

Kelly plays the Royal Manor Theatre in Portland on Thursday, October 20, followed by Langton Matravers Village Hall on Friday, October 21 and Ibberton Village Hall on Saturday October 22.

Growing up listening to artists including Bob Dylan, Alanis Morissette and Dolly Parton gave Kelly a passion for music, and an influential immersion into her grandmother's Irish culture created a musical inspiration for her material.

Kelly's debut album This Land, which featured legendary fiddle player Dave Swarbrick, gained her a Best Album By A Female Artist award from Folkwords, and was included in The Telegraph’s Best Folk Albums of 2014.

It also earned a nomination for FATEA Magazine’s Best Debut Album of 2014.

Singles from her second album Bedlam, which was released back in March, have all enjoyed numerous radio plays, including on BBC Radio 2's Folk Show with Mark Radcliffe, Bob Harris' BBC Radio 2 Sunday show, Clare Balding's BBC Radio 2 Good Morning Sunday, BBC Radio 2 After Midnight and BBC 6 Music.

Kelly also recently performed live on BBC One's Sunday Morning live show, in a special feature welcoming Team GB back from the Rio Olympics, and recently appeared in the County at Purbeck Valley Folk Festival and Camp Bestival in Lulworth.

Now this autumn, through the counties touring scheme and registered charity Artsreach, Kelly will perform three solo gigs at rural venues in Dorset, as part of the new season sponsored by Blanchards Bailey Solicitors.

Alongside accomplished acoustic guitar melodies, breathtaking vocals and thought provoking lyrics, Kelly's live show often includes the stomp box and harmonica. Accompanied by her warm, confident and engaging stage presence, you be sure to expect an evening of outstanding entertainment.

All of Kelly's performances begin at 7.30pm.
