An investigation has been launched after a woman sustained stab injuries to her head and body.
Emergency services were called to East Weare Road yesterday evening following reports of a disturbance at an address.
A spokesman for Dorset Police said: "We were called at 4.34pm, Sunday, September 10 2017, to reports of a disturbance at an address in East Weare Road on Portland.
"Paramedics and the air ambulance also attended the scene.
"A local woman sustained stab injuries to her head and body and has been taken to hospital for treatment. Her condition is not believed to be life-threatening.
"A local man who sustained a head injury following a fall during the incident has been arrested and has also been taken to hospital for treatment.
"The man and woman are known to each other and officers are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.
"An investigation is underway and a cordon is in place."
