Christmas will officially be arriving on the isle tonight as Portland Christmas Sparkle returns to Easton.
Formerly known as Easton Promise, the shopping and entertainment event will see a touch of festive magic descend over Easton Square from 5pm this evening (Dec 15).
There will be a whole host of festive crafts and products for sale for anyone needing a last minute Christmas gift and for shoppers working up an appetite mince pies, hot dogs and mulled cider will be on offer.
Father Christmas will be making an appearance to help the community get in the holiday spirit and there will be traditional Christmas fun for children including Donkey Rides and a homemade sparkling decoration competition.
The Island Voices Choir will be performing in the Methodist Hall at 5.30pm and there will be 'Carols by Candlelight' at All Saints Church at 6.30pm.
The event, coordinated by Portland Town Council will kick off at 5pm at Easton Square and continue through the evening.
