DORSET Wildlife Trust (DWT) has lined up a host of fun family activities across the county this half term.

The Kingcombe Centre near Dorchester is holding a photography master class with expert photographer, Stewart Canham, on Thursday.

Children can bring their own cameras and learn top photography tips to practice in the meadows surrounding the centre.

Families are invited to the Lorton Meadows Family Festival on Saturday May 30, where there will be wildlife games such as fishing for ducks and the ‘best nest’ competition.

For some coastal fun, the Fine Foundation Chesil Centre on Portland has a packed timetable of events, including ‘Seashore Superheroes’ on Friday May 29, where children can become a wildlife superhero, learning how to protect local wildlife with a series of challenges and making a superhero mask.

At the Fine Foundation Marine Centre at Kimmeridge, the popular Kayak Safari is the best way to explore under the water world with clear-bottomed kayaks and goggle-viewers.

This also includes a wildlife talk and kayak session accompanied by a qualified kayak leader.

If you’d like to keep your feet on dry land, The Great Heath Dragonfly Safari will take children and families onto Upton Heath in east Dorset on Thursday May 28.
