A fuel spillage has been caused by a crash between two cars.
Dorset Police were called to reports of a two-car crash on Tout Hill in Wareham at 9:40am today.
South West Ambulance Service also went to the scene to treat minor injuries, police said.
The collision involved a black Ford Focus and a grey BMW 330i. Police did not know which of the cars the fuel spillage came from.
A spokesperson for Dorset County Council said staff sanded down the road at 11:46am and made it safe again for drivers.
They added it was diesel fuel which had leaked.
Tout Hill remained open, though Dorset Police said it was blocked for a time because of the crash.
The vehicles have now been recovered and taken off the road, police said.
