UPTON House Music Festival begins tomorrow.

Security has been stepped up for this year’s festival in Poole following the recent terrorist attacks.

The three-day festival from Thursday, June 8 to Saturday, June 10 features a host of star names including Michael Bolton, Billy Ocean and Sir Bryn Terfel.

And organisers say it’s proving to be a record-breaker with ticket sales up by more than 15 per cent on last year’s event.

The park has witnessed a huge amount of activity since over the past few days with construction of the arena and stage gathering pace.

Patrons are being asked to allow extra time to enter the festival ground due to increased security measures following the events in Manchester and London. All tickets will be scanned at the entrances to the arena and random bag searches will take place.

Festival spokesman Stephen McManus said: “Our aim is to keep disruption to a minimum and I thank people in advance for their patience and co-operation as we ensure this second Upton House Music Festival takes place without a hitch.

“I would advise that you aim to get to the festival earlier than planned for the public gate opening times at 5.30pm each day to avoid possible congestion.

There’s still time to buy the last remaining tickets. For more details or to book, visit uptonhousemusicfestival.co.uk.
