THE Lyme Regis lifeboat was launched to help a man who needed medical help.
RNLI officers launched the lifeboat at 2.27pm on Tuesday (May 26) to assist coastguards who had been called to help a 67 -year-old man.
The man was reported to be in need of medical help, and he and his young grandson and granddaughter were on rocks between Seaton Chine and Seaton Hole when the alarm was raised.
One lifeboat crew member went ashore to help, and the coastguard helicopter took the man to a waiting ambulance on Seaton cricket ground.
The two children were taken by lifeboat to Seaton beach and coastguards took them to meet the ambulance. The lifeboat returned to harbour after almost two hours at sea.
