GEORGE Egg is among a trio of comedians who will be providing comic relief for Bridport in the New Year.

Bridport Electric Palace begins the year with comedy in the shape of anarchic cook George Egg and then big names Rob Beckett and Russell Kane.

George, whose Edinburgh and Brighton Fringe shows have been complete sell-outs, appears on Saturday January 21. Tickets are just £5 plus booking fee.

If you like food and cooking then you’ll like George Egg. His show is a cocktail of stand-up comedy, striking innovation and extreme multi-tasking.

George spends a lot of time staying in hotels and some years ago, unimpressed with room service, he took matters into his own hands. Whilst performing a mind-bendingly original show of comedy-cum-illustrated-lecture George prepares a three-course meal on the equipment hotels unwittingly provide (iron, kettle, trouser press…), and if you want to, you can taste it at the end.

Rob Beckett brings his brand new Mouth of the South tour to Bridport on Wednesday 22 March. Tickets are £16 plus booking fee.

Then on Saturday May 6, it’s the turn of multi-award winning comedian, presenter, actor, author and scriptwriter Russell Kane. Tickets are £17 plus booking fee.

Henning Wehn’s recent appearance at the Palace was a sell-out within days of going on sale, so booking online via www.electricpalace.org.uk or through Bridport Tourist Information Centre is advised.
