TAKE a fun glimpse behind the scenes of the political world with one of the Labour Party’s former advisers.

Comedian Ayesha Hazarika is a former special adviser who has previously worked for Gordon Brown, Harriet Harman and Ed Miliband.

Ayesha started her career as a stand-up comedian playing clubs across the country. She then took what she thought was a “natural diversion into the Labour Party.” And has now returned to her first love with her latest tour State of the Nation.

She will be playing Lyme’s Marine Theatre on May 5 and then will finish her tour at Salisbury Arts Centre on July 14.

In her latest UK tour, Ayesha lifts the lid on what life is really like behind the scenes at Westminster with honesty and humour and asks - what’s next for British politics? Having been at the heart of the Labour party for the last decade, Ayesha offers a “razor sharp, hilarious first-person take” on the rights, wrongs and what ifs among the powers that be.

Since leaving front line politics she has written for the FT, Guardian, Evening Standard, New Statesman and Grazia. Her one-woman show, Tales from the Pink Bus, was a sell-out hit at the 2016 Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
