Bristol Old Vic Theatre School presents Under Milk Wood, which is touring to Bridport Arts Centre on Thursday, June 8 at 7.30pm.

Behind a cast populated by outrageous drunkards, prostitutes, unrequited lovers, bigamists and ghosts, are some of the finest examples of Thomas’ unique literary style.

Opened in 1946 by Laurence Olivier, the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School has grown a reputation for attracting the very best in young acting talent and, as such, has some notable alumni to its name including Daniel Day Lewis, Greta Scacchi, Peter O’Toole, Olivia Colman and many more.

With its canvas of bawdy humour, nonsense gossip, feuds, affairs, fights, frauds and practical jokes, Under Milk Wood pulses with the vitality and relish of real life characters re-living their dreams and desires.

Lisa Wilcock of Bridport Arts Centre said: “We always know we’re about to see something special when Bristol Old Vic Theatre students take to the stage. This year they have take Dylan Thomas’ words and turned them into a treat for the eyes. Not to be missed!”
