From the moment she found the RNLI Emily Nineham was hooked.

She’s already helped rescue a teenage girl who got into trouble swimming offshore in west Dorset.

She’s not only involved with the charity through her work as a lifeguard but she’s also passionate about raising money for it too and has already doubled her £200 fundraising target with her 10,000ft skydive.

She said: “The RNLI is a big part of my life, having first hand experience with the RNLI, in being a beach lifeguard for Weymouth, Greenhill, West Bay and Lyme Regis and visiting lifeboat stations. From the moment I found the RNLI I was hooked.

“Being there in the moment of someone’s greatest hour of need and putting yourself on the line to save a life, if I can help this amazing charity in any way I can, I will.

“Being able to give something back to the charity that saves lives at sea is very important to me.”

She has so far raised more than £400 for the RNLI by taking part in her skydive last month.

Emily paid the full cost of her jump so that all money she raises will go directly to the RNLI.

After the skydive Emily said: “The RNLI is a big part of my life.

“I really wanted to be able to give something back to the charity that saves lives at sea so I decided to do something a bit crazy to fundraise for them - a 10,000ft tandem skydive!

“This included a terrifying 30 second free-fall at 125mph.

“It was definitely worth it though."

It is still possible to donate towards Emily’s fundraising total online at justgiving.com/fundraising/emily-nineham

A spokesman for the charity said: “Thanks to your support our lifeboat crews and lifeguards saved 558 lives in 2016.

“Whether organising an event in your local community or becoming a volunteer there are many ways to the support the RNLI to save lives at sea.
