A Bridport electrical business is celebrating 10 years in business, with business booming.
Devondale Electrical Wholesaler’s Bridport branch became part of Devondale’s network earlier in the year, although it is still trading as A J Electrical to ensure continuity for existing customers.
Since then, a smart re-brand and new members of staff have transformed the company, which has picked up significant numbers of new trade customers.
There are now seven members of staff, comprising branch director Andy Spence, assistant manager Jimmy Clarke, stores manager Graham Nicholls, internal sales Ben Harp and Robyn Gale, and driver, Phil Collins.
Devondale Bridport has also taken on its first apprentice through the Electrical Distributors Association apprenticeship scheme. Hannah Chant from Beaminster joined the company after a year-long course in electrical installation at Yeovil College.
She said: “I decided to leave education and do something I really wanted to do.
“The electrical trade is a male-dominated industry and I fully intend to make my mark.”
Part of the 10th anniversary celebrations saw manufacturers visiting the branch for a special trade show day, with promotional offers and product advice for customers who also enjoyed a free bacon roll.
