POLICE cordoned off two roads in Weymouth last night after receiving a report of a man carrying knives.
A spokesman for Dorset Police said they received the call just after 4pm yesterday.
The man was seen entering a house in Southview Road.
Officers closed Southview Road at the junction with Emmadale Road from around 5.30pm.
Armed police and a dog unit responded to the incident.
A 23-year-old man was arrested inside the house and a number of knives were seized by police.
Witnesses described seeing around eight police vehicles at the scene last night.
A Dorset Police spokesman said there was 'no immediate concern to other members of the public'.
Last night a Dorset Police spokesman said one man was led from a property and was in the hands of paramedics.
