A MOTHER and daughter duo came out as the winners in a baking competition for Weymouth lifeboat.

Inspired by television bake off competitions, leading hand Nicola Taylor from the Logistics Section of the Royal Navy Air Station, Yeoviliton decided to hold a Great Easter Bake Off competition for the personnel of the section.

The winning cake was baked by mother and daughter Alexis and Fearne Pulham.

After the competition, all the cakes apart from the winning cake were sold to the personnel of the air station for a staggering £320.

Nicola visited Weymouth lifeboat station on the April 10 and presented the money to the Weymouth lifeboat station.

Weymouth lifeboat coxswain Andy Sargent thanked Nicola for the cheque and told her that the delicious cake which had been delivered to the station just after the bake off, had been shared amongst the crew on a training night and also with the Search and Rescue helicopter crew from Portland Coastguard.
