RAIL passengers are facing disruption this week due to night-time engineering works on the Weymouth-Waterloo line.
It only affects late evening trains between Dorchester South and Weymouth in each direction.
After 9pm each evening this week until Thursday, a bus will run for passengers travelling between Weymouth and Dorchester South.
This work will also affect late evening trains between the stations from Monday to Thursday next week. Passengers should check times in advance before travelling.
Rail passengers travelling further up the line at the weekend will have to catch a bus for part of the journey. Replacement buses will run between Basingstoke and Eastleigh on Saturday and on Sunday replacement buses will run between Basingstoke and Southampton Central. The engineering work is part of a programme of improvement works taking place on the line this spring.
South West Trains says it needs to do engineering work to maintain and improve the rail network. Much of this work is done at weekends and during holiday periods, but some work also needs to be done overnight during the week.
