FAMILY fun, food from around the world and live music are just some of the treats on offer when the Wessex Folk Festival returns to Weymouth harbourside later this month.

The family festival with two free stages showcases a range of traditional and modern folk acts and runs from Friday, May 29 to Sunday, May 31.

There will also be morris dancing and food and craft stalls along the picturesque harbourside.

Workshops and traditional sessions will be held in local pubs across the town.

The festival line-up this year includes performances from local musicians Steve Turner, Colin Thompson, Tim Laycock, the Bow Legged Skeeters, the Weymouth Ukuleleans and many more.

The festival is a not for profit festival run by a team of volunteer committee members that relies on support from the public .

Last year saw hundreds of people flock to the harbourside to enjoy the atmosphere.

Sunday saw the busiest day as the sun came out and everyone was in a party mood.

The harbourside was packed with dancers in all sorts of costumes, from black with bright coloured rags and hats with feathers in, to red, white and blue and traditional white.
