ROLL UP, Roll up, for a classic car show and fun day in Chickerell.

Now in its 17th year Transport of Yesteryear will again be putting on their annual fun day out and car show in June.

The event on June 28 from 10am at School Hill, will have all the fun of the fair, including trade stands, music and entertainment and will raise money for the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance.

There will be something for everyone with alpacas, birds of prey, food stalls, a bouncy castle, a car boot and of course the cars.

There will also be music from Stompin Dave, The Rock Choir, Nikki, The ABC Step In Line dancers, Chris Groves and Brian.

The event has so far raised more than £20,000 for the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance.

Organiser Carle Graham said they recently handed over a cheque to the charity from last years’ event for £1,250.

He encouraged everyone to come along and get involved in the fun.

He said: “What makes the show so special is that our site is just packed - it’s absolutely packed, we can’t get anything else on there.

“There’s something going on all day. There’s fairground rides for the children.”

He added: “It’s known for its friendly and welcoming atmosphere with the exhibitors and visitors.”

Mr Graham said when they started out 17 years ago they never imagined it would be as successful as it had been and said they had now become as big as they could for the site.

He said: “It’s going to be a great day – there’s free parking as usual. All we have to do is hope the weather is nice.

“It will be a great day for everybody.”

Admission is £4 per adult of £10 for a family of two adults and two children.
