MENINGITIS Now are encouraging people to come forward and organise a ‘Toddle Waddle’ to help in the fight against Meningitis.

A Toddle Waddles is a short sponsored walk for toddlers and young children and this year’s theme is ‘Under the Sea.’

All people have to do is pick a date and location and once it is registered they will be sent a free fundraising pack.

It is free to take part and participants are just asked to raise as much money as possible.

All money raised goes to help Meningitis Now’s fund to fight against meningitis in the UK.

Toddle Waddle co-ordinator Caroline McDonnell, said: “This is a hugely popular event that we run each year to raise funds for the charity, so that we can undertake vital research into crucial vaccines and increase awareness of meningitis and its symptoms.

“Sadly, babies, toddlers and children under five are most at risk, more than half of all cases are within this age group. Recognising symptoms as quickly as possible is fundamental to beating the disease.”
