A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of robbery after an alleged incident in Weymouth Cemetery.

Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information about the incident to come forward.

They say it happened at around 6pm on Friday, June 19.

A man approached a group of teenagers before allegedly threatening one of them and stealing their mobile phone and then heading onto Abbotsbury Road.

Detective Constable Sally Ludlow, of Weymouth CID, said: “I am appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact me. I would also particularly like to speak to a man who was walking his dog in the vicinity at the time of the incident as I believe he may be able to assist me with my enquiries.

“Anyone with further information about this incident should contact Dorset Police in confidence on 101.”

A 20-year-old Weymouth man has been arrested in connection with the incident and released on police bail pending further enquiries.
