A TRIO of teens have successfully conquered the highest peak in Britain in just three days.

Flo Attlee, Lucy Wisher and Livy Geikie-Cobb this week successfully climbed the three highest peaks in Britain in just three days.

The 13 year-olds ascended over 11,300 feet and covered 30 miles on foot.

To avoid the crowds, they chose some of the most challenging routes up these mountains including the Carn Mor Dearg Arete, Mickledore Gap and Crib Goch knife edge.

And in completing the challenge, they raised nearly £6,000 for three charities – Julia’s House Children’s Hospice, Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance, and The Teenage Cancer Trust - all of which are deeply personal to them.

They are all friends from Sandroyd School.

“ It was great that we exceeded our fundraising targets and it was this support that inspired us to keep climbing,” said Flo.

“We worked really well as a team, encouraging each other when we most needed it.

"My favourite mountain was Snowdon as this was a final summit and we felt an overwhelming sense of achievement.

"The views from the top were truly breath-taking.”

For Lucy her highlight was Ben Nevis.

“I loved the challenging scramble over the jagged rocks of the Carn Mor Dearg Arete on the way up to Ben Nevis.

"On one side of the knife-edge the valley was shrouded in mist and snow and on the other there was brilliant sunshine.

"Having seen six people on the way up, I was amazed to see hundreds of people at the summit," she said.

The mountains were a new adventure for Livi.

"Having trained on Gold Hill, Win Green, Hambledon Hill, I could not believe the sheer size and height of these mountains.

"When we scaled Britain’s ninth highest mountain, Carn Mor Dearg, on the way up Ben Nevis I knew we were in for quite a challenge. I really surprised myself in conquering all Three Peaks," she said.
