TAKE your tastebuds on an adventure to the orient-all in aid of a good cause.

Owners of a Weymouth café and diner are urging residents to help them raise money for a host of good causes in the upcoming months.

Jason Yuan and Tom Li have recently taken over a premises in St Mary Street with their restaurant, Bento, which offers authentic oriental dishes.

The restaurant has been doing well since opening and whilst the pair look to expand their menu, they also want to give something back to the community.

Mr Li, said: "We know a lady who comes in quite a lot who mentioned doing charity nights and we thought 'well why not.'

"At the moment we are holding one charity evening every month.

"Next week, for our first event, we are raising money for Julia's House and I am hoping to have a full house.

"We will be donating all the food money to the charity so the more people that come, the better.

"In September we are supporting CLIC Sargent, which is quite a new charity, caring for children with cancer and their families, and in September we will be supporting the lifeboats.

"All those who come will have a three course set meal in one of our Bento Boxes and they can choose from chicken, beef and vegetarian, for just £15 - which will all go to charity.

"The bookings are all done through the charity so we have no idea how many have booked so far but we are expecting a full house.

"The only down side is that we don't have a massive venue, we can cater for 35 to 40 people and we hope we will be reaching that next week and raise as much money as we can."

The first charity night is on Wednesday August 26 from 7pm.
