WEYMOUTH RNLI is urging people to come dancing and help raise funds for its lifesaving service.

This year's Weymouth RNLI Ball is being held at the Pavilion on Friday, October 23 from 7pm until midnight.

The event is being supported by McCarthy and Stone and will feature live music from Soulside, a 10-piece band that specialises in Motown but will be playing a mixture of hits from the 1960s, 1970s, 1980s and 1990s up to modern day music.

During the evening there will also be entertainment at the tables with close up magic from David Days.

The cost is £25 per ticket, which includes a two-course buffet.

Tickets can be obtained from the Pavilion box office on 01305 783225.

Anyone who is unable to attend the ball but still wants to raise funds for the charity is urged to join the Weymouth lifeboat station volunteers for their annual coffee morning on Wednesday, October 21 from 10.30am to 12noon.

The event is also being held at the Pavilion and will see not just coffee and cake on offer but also stalls selling arts and crafts, bric-a-brac, books, homemade cakes and more.

Entry is £1, which includes your first cup of coffee.
