POLICE are hunting arsonists after a car was deliberately set alight on a Weymouth playing field.
The incident happened at around 4am on Saturday, April 2 on Hillbourne Playing Field, between Hillbourne Road and Fairview Road.
The car was a black Ford Focus and a spokesman for Dorset Police said that investigations established it was deliberately set alight.
Police Community Support Officer Steph Kitton, of Weymouth police, said: “I am appealing to anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area at the time of the incident to please contact Dorset Police on 101.
“I would also urge anyone who knows who is responsible for this fire to please call.”
No arrests have been made.
