DRIVERS were turned around by police following a crash between a van and a car.
The A353 was closed in both directions after the collision, which brought police to Poxwell at 3.38pm.
They shut the road between the A352 junction and the Mills Road junction.
Paramedics were called to the crash involving a white Ford Transit van registered to a Dorchester man and a black Mini registered to a woman from Weymouth.
A spokesman for South Western Ambulance Service said that two patients were treated at the scene - one with shoulder injuries and one with head injuries.
One of the patients later took themselves to Dorset County Hospital.
An eyewitness said that initially police were turning cars around, but that vehicles are now able to pass after the Transit van was towed away.
More to follow.
