THE future is looking bright for some little stars with big ambitions who were shining in front of judges at the Britain’s Got Talent auditions in Weymouth.

Film crews returned to the harbourside in Weymouth as florescent wigs, glitter, pink tutus and props were flying everywhere as acts prepared to showcase their wow factor and impress judges.

Talent scouts were at The Rendezvous today for the initial round of open auditions for the biggest talent show in the country.

Amongst those auditioning were 10 year old Finnley Evans from Weymouth, with his two sisters – Summer, nine, and Miley, six. The family ‘squad’ were completed with their support act, mum Laura Evans.

Laura said: “My children are a comedy dance act and it’s quite funny. It’s not every day you get to audition for Britain’s Got Talent.

“We had to check that it wasn’t just Dorset’s God Talent. We did and saw it was ITV and Syco and got excited!”

The family were in stiff competition with a fellow dancer, 11 year old Hayley Seymour. Supported by her mother Sue, she said it was a fantastic opportunity for her daughter.

Two stars who couldn’t be missed in their outrageous outfits were 10 year old Jake Hounsome and Robert Hardy, 12, from Dorchester.

Dressed in furry coats, bright dresses and wearing fabulous glasses, the duo performed a comedy double act.

Jake said: “We want to go on Britain’s Got Talent and show the world what we can do!”

Jake’s mum, Tracy, added: “They absolutely enjoy what they do and it’s nice for them to do what they want. It’s an age range where they can get bullied for what they do and this is an outlet for them. It’s not very often you go shopping for a dress for your boy!”

Hannah Miller, talent scout for Britain’s Got Talent said the auditions had gone really well.

She said: “I’m very chuffed with the turnout so far. The talent in general has been really great. I’m really impressed. There’s a lot of talent here with dance groups and holiday parks.”

Successful acts will get a call to go through to the next round to face Simon Cowell and the buzzer.
