FOUR men have appeared in court in connection with an incident which left a man in hospital with serious injuries.

Zach Paul Attley, 25 and of Weymouth, Stephen Jamieson, 23 and of Exeter, Kesley Sean Tuck, 20 and of Exeter, and John Paul Williams, 25 and of Weymouth, have been charged with robbery and appeared at Bournemouth Magistrates Court today.

They were all remanded in custody and are due to appear at Bournemouth Crown Court on December 15.

The charge relates to an incident which took place on Sunday, November 13 on Chapelhay Steps.

A 26-year-old man was walking up the steps when he was allegedly hit around the face with an object. Police said his wallet, keys and mobile phone were stolen.

The incident happened between 7.30pm and 8pm.

The man, from Weymouth, remains in hospital and is being treated for serious facial injuries.

Today, police renewed an appeal for any witnesses to the incident to come forward.

Detective Constable Gerald Marchant, of Weymouth CID, said: “I am appealing to anyone who saw the incident or witnessed a group of men in the area at the relevant time to please contact Dorset Police.”
