A MAN was left in intensive care in hospital after falling from a third storey window.

Emergency services rushed to the address in the early hours of yesterday morning.

Police were the first to arrive at the disturbance on Wyke Road.

A spokesman for Dorset Police said: “At 3.51am yesterday we received a call from an address along Wyke Road. No request for police was made.

“Officers were sent to establish whether anyone was in need of help. When they arrived a man aged in his 20s had fallen from a third floor window.

“He was taken to Dorset County Hospital where he was admitted to intensive care to establish the extent of his injuries.

“No arrests have been made.”

The spokesman added that the man remains in intensive care.

Several residents contacted the Echo to report a loud disturbance prior to the man falling from the window.

It was then reported that police arrived on the scene followed by the ambulance service shortly afterwards.

One resident, who did not wish to be named, said that the police attended the scene very quickly.

He added that there was a lot of shouting with someone screaming for an ambulance to be called.

The eyewitnesses added that around six to eight police officers and four medics attended the scene in total.

New Year’s Eve is the busiest night of the year for Dorset Police and they were asking people to think before they called 999 or 101.
