A MADCAP physical interpretation of the Brontë myth will tour rural Dorset next month,

We Are Brontë will take the real and imaginary worlds of the Yorkshire siblings as inspiration for its story.

It will tour to Langton Matravers and Shillingstone next month.

With only a handful of props, two performers deconstruct not only gothic themes of love, madness and revenge, but also themselves.

Bristol-based Publick Transport is dedicated to making strong visual comic theatre, drawing on clowning and the absurd to celebrate the live experience.

This spring the company returns to Dorset with their newest piece through Artsreach, the counties arts charity, supported this season by Blanchards Bailey.

Kerry Bartlett, Artsreach co-director said: “Previous tours of 20,000 Leagues Under the Office, The Department of Smelling Pistakes, and Discombobulated are long since talked about by Artsreach audiences as being some of the most memorable and so we are excited to be welcoming them back to Dorset.”

Presented in Publick Transport's playful and irreverent style, Angus Barr and Sarah Corbett combine a handful of props with rigorous physical theatre and anarchic comedy. Part play, part enquiry into the act of putting on a play, this promises to be no ordinary Bronte adaptation!

This play is suitable for those aged 10 and over.
