A STORY of an artist's life struggle will be told in a free exhibition at Weymouth Library.

Bobbie-Jo Treglown is exhibiting PAINtart (outside-inside) at the Mulberry Gallery from May 8 to 13.

The exhibition explores the altered state that is chronic pain and coincides with Hypermobility Syndrome (HMS) awareness month, a condition Bobbie-Jo suffers from.

She said: "I was born with hypermobility syndrome a heritable degenerative disease.

"In spite of it I became a professional dancer/choreographer. The constant joint dislocations were a major problem and have now developed into arthritis of the spine and joints. When you live with pain, every day is a mountain and the future is too bleak to consider.

"Pain like dance and art exist only in the now. An exhibition to me is art history and I am curating my paintings and installations to tell my story."

I have timed this exhibition to coincide with the awareness month hoping to inspire those who suffer in any way to get creative and feel the therapeutic benefit of art.

There will be information on HMS and Ehlers-Danlos syndrome at the exhibition. See hypermobility.org for more information.

PAINtart is free and will be at The Mulberry Gallery, Weymouth Library May 8th – 13th.
