ONE of Weymouth’s flagship events is back – and this year there’s a special twist.

There’s still time to get your early bird tickets for Weldmar’s Midnight Walk, which has a carnival theme for 2017, but you’ll have to act fast.

The Midnight Walk, which will take place on Saturday 15th July, gives women an option to walk a five, 6.5 or 10 mile route along Weymouth’s Esplanade, quayside and beautiful harbour. Any woman over the age of 14 is invited to take part and help raise money for Weldmar’s vital services.

Matt Smith, head of fundraising for Weldmar said: “We are really excited about our 2017 Midnight Walk. Each year we have improved the event to ensure it is exactly what our supporters want. We have listened to walkers’ feedback over the past few years and have introduced a brand new Brazilian Carnival theme. The theme will change each year, keeping the event fresh and exciting and we can’t wait for this year’s event.”

Registration is just £14 for under 18s and £16 for adults. After tomorrow (APR30), the adult fee will increase to £18. This includes entry to the Midnight Walk, an official event t-shirt, flashing headgear, refreshments during and after the walk, a medal, goodies and a whole evening of entertainment.

Matt added: “We are putting on a big Brazilian party before the start of the walk so each walker can help us celebrate before taking on the streets of Weymouth. Along with live music there will be a disco plus lots of fun and entertainment. We would love it if both previous walkers and brand new supporters took part in our 2017 walk. It’s a great excuse to get the girls together and soak up the atmosphere whilst making a different to your local hospice.”

Weldmar Hospicecare provides high quality care, compassion and support to patients and their loves ones across Dorset. This care is provided completely free of charge, when and where they need this care. This could be in the patient’s home, in a local hospital, in our day care centres, in our hospice - or even over the phone.

If you would like to register as a walker or volunteer (men are welcome to volunteer), please phone 01305 261800 or visit www.weld-hospice.org.uk/midnightwalk
