A lifeboat has been launched to attend a broken down yacht with two crew members on board.
The Weymouth RNLI all-weather life boat was launched to go to the assistance of a yacht off of Portland at just after 1:30pm today.
The lifeboat crew quickly established once they arrived at the scene that the two persons on board the 20’ yacht were safe and well.
The yacht was found close to Blacknor Point on the west coast of Portland and had been travelling from Poole to Newport in Wales.
The yacht had suffered engine failure and so a tow line was passed to the yacht to bring it back to the harbour.
The yacht arrived back at Weymouth Harbour at 4pm and was put alongside at The Cove, where it was met by coastguards who offered safety advice to the two crew members.
