A man has suffered head and neck injuries and been taken to hospital, following a crash between a car and a man on a mobility scooter.
Police were called at 4.27pm to the scene and an ambulance also attended.
A spokesman for the South Western Ambulance Service said one man involved has been taken to Dorset County Hospital with head and neck injuries.
Emergency services have not yet confirmed in what way the man was involved in the incident.
Preston Road in Weymouth had been closed eastbound between Fisherbridge Road and Sutton Road due to the incident, but it was re-opened at about 6.52pm.
The closure was causing slow traffic in the area.
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said the injuries sustained by the man are believed to be minor.
The incident is not connected to a separate collision on Preston Beach Road near the Oasis Cafe.
