A brand new deep sea adventure will be coming to Sea Life Weymouth this summer.

The much anticipated Octo-Glow Explorers event will offer children and their families the chance to join CBeebies’ most intrepid ocean explorers on a special mission to uncover the secret world of glow in the dark sea creatures.

As an Octo-Glow Explorer in Shellington’s Octo-Glow Lab, children will be encouraged to take part in a range of interactive activities to discover how creatures of the deep use light to hide from predators, attract their prey and communicate with each other.

Tamsin Mutton-Knight, manager at Sea Life Weymouth said: “It’s great to have the Octonauts back at Sea Life Weymouth for the new Octo-Glow Explorers event. It is going to be so much fun to see the children and their families assist CBeebies’ favourite underwater heroes on this exciting adventure and learn about some of the ocean’s most colourful sea creatures.”

Newly recruited sea scientists will also be invited to share their findings in the Octo-Glow Lab with Octonauts, Kwazii and Peso, during an Octo-Glow Explorer character meet and greet.

The Octonauts are a dynamic eight-member team of quirky and courageous adventure heroes who dive into action whenever there is trouble under the sea. Equipped with a fleet of aquatic vehicles, they rescue amazing sea creatures, explore incredible new underwater worlds, and often save the day before returning safely to their home base, the octopod.

Raquel Cubillo, cluster marketing manager at Sea Life Weymouth said: “We are thrilled to host Kwazii and Peso in the Octo-Glow Lab at Sea Life Weymouth this summer and can’t wait to see what results their new recruits have.

"There’s so much adventure for explorers to be had under the sea, and its glow in the dark creatures are some of the most fascinating.”

Post-mission, all honorary Octonauts will then be encouraged to find out about other quirky critters of the seas and Sea Life Weymouth’s many conservation programmes by visiting the park's host of non-glow in the dark creatures, including seals, penguins, otters, sharks, turtles and other animals.

Tamsin added: “It’s a thrilling opportunity for fans to meet their favourite characters this summer and contribute to the action-packed Octonauts world while supporting their values of teamwork, co-operation and protecting the environment.”

The Octo-Glow Explorers event will run at the adventure park from Saturday, July 29 until Monday, August 28.
