CHRISTMAS is a time for celebration, but it is also a time to remember loved ones who are no longer with us.

Weldmar Hospicecare will be Lighting up a Life and remembering absent loved ones this festive season.

Dream Cottages is once again sponsoring Light Up a Life, an annual Christmas event held in support of Weldmar Hospicecare.

Held in Hope Square, the Weymouth Light Up a Life event is a special way to remember loved ones and family members who are no longer with us at this special and poignant time of year by dedicating a twinkling light on the Christmas tree just for them.

The lights will be illuminated on Sunday, December 10, whilst everyone gathers around the tree for this memorable service along with carol singers and local musicians.

Zachary Stuart-Brown, managing director at Dream Cottages, said: "Although Christmas is of a course a time for celebration and for families coming together, it also represents an opportunity to give thanks for what we have and to remember fondly, those who are no longer with us.

“Once again Dream Cottages is privileged to be able to support the fantastic work that Weldmar do, especially with respect to this important festive event.”

To dedicate a light in memory of someone special this year, Weldmar are asking for a donation as big or small as you can manage to Weldmar Hospicecare by either calling 01305 261800 or donating online at weld-hospice.org.uk/lightupalife.

All dedications will be acknowledged with a special card and all names will be recorded in the 2017 Book of Remembrance.

The Weymouth service is just one of many services to be held in beautiful locations across Dorset this December.

Other locations include Abbotsbury Subtropical Gardens, Joseph Weld Hospice, Holme for Gardens Wareham, Orchard Park Garden Centre Gillingham and Castle Gardens Sherbourne.

The team at Dream Cottages will be offering mince pies and milled wine for those attending the service on Sunday from 4.30pm.
