A driver failed to stop after they crashed into scaffolding on a residential house in Weymouth.
Police were called to the scene in Lennox Street after a car ploughed into metal scaffolding at around 2.40pm yesterday.
Luckily no one was working on the scaffolding at the time and no one was injured.
Police closed the road at the junction with Charles Street due to fears, as a consequence of the crash, the scaffolding could be structurally unsound and pose a danger to the public.
A spokesman for Dorset Police said workers from the scaffolding company had now assessed the damage and are happy the structure poses no risk.
The car involved is believed to be a small, gold hatchback and anyone with information is asked to contact the police, who are continuing with their enquires.
