Thousands of Homes and businesses across Weymouth were left without power yesterday.
SSE said that 2,255 customers in the DT3 and DT4 postcode areas were affected by a third party who damaged one of their cables.
The incident was reported at 12.10pm.
An SSE spokesman, added: "We apologise for the loss of supply. We currently have a fault affecting the DT3 and DT4 area's. Our engineers are on site working to get the power back on as quickly as they can."
The spokesman added that power had been restored to properties throughout the afternoon with only six left to be restored.
SSE added that these properties were expected to be restored by 4pm.
