A woman was rescued after falling into Weymouth Harbour.
A member of the public came to her aid after the woman fell from a boat.
Emergency services rushed to the scene at around 3.15pm on Sunday afternoon, close to the former council offices at North Quay.
A spokesman for the Maritime and Coastguard Agency confirmed that coastguards and the RNLI lifeboat had been alerted to the incident by South West Ambulance Service.
When coastguards arrived the woman had been rescued from the water and was being cared for by paramedics.
A spokesman for Wyke Coastguard Rescue Team said the team were alerted to assist paramedics with a casualty in the harbour.
The spokesman said: "She had fallen from a vessel and sustained a severe laceration to her arm.
"It was unclear whether she was still in the water or not at the time of the tasking.
"When team members arrived on scene it was clear our assistance was not required as the casualty was already in an ambulance. She was recovered from the water by a member of the public."
