Businessman to help cancer kids

BRIDPORT businessman Dave Tattershall is pulling on his running shoes to raise money for child cancer victims.

The boss of DGT Precision Ltd is hoping to raise £3,000 for CLIC Sargent by completing the London Marathon later this month.

Although he has previously raised funds by competing in two half-marathons at Bristol and Bath, this will be 49-year-old Mr Tattershall's first attempt to complete a full 26-mile race.

He said he chose to raise money for CLIC Sargent because of the exceptional work they do for children with cancer and leukaemia.

"Every day in the UK 10 families are told that their child has cancer.

"CLIC Sargent offers tremendous support for the children and their families," he said.

Mr Tattershall, who lives in Beaminster, said he had been overwhelmed' by the fantastic response and generosity of local people and businesses to his fundraising appeal so far but he still has a long way to go to reach his £3,000 target.

Anyone wishing to sponsor him should telephone him on 01308 420024 or 079700 62504 or send a message via his email at dave@ dgtpreceng.co.uk
