CAN you see a face in the clouds over Weymouth?

This photo was taken by reader Michael Roberts during last week’s solar eclipse, and appears to show a face poking out of the clouds directly underneath the sun and the moon, which we have circled.

The solar eclipse captured the public’s imagination last week as the moon passed in front of the sun between 8.30am and 10.30am, causing it to get darker and temperatures to fall.

Mr Roberts, an engineer at ASM on the Granby Industrial Estate, took several photos from the roof car park of ASM during the celestial event.

He said he didn’t spot the face-like image until he put his photos on to his laptop at home.

Mr Roberts said: “I enjoyed the eclipse, it was going bright and then dark but I thought that was good, it was really interesting and I enjoyed it.

“I got home and put the pictures on my laptop, and then I noticed this face-like image. I thought it looked like a girl’s face to start off with.

“I went into work the day after and showed my colleagues and some thought it looked like Jesus, some thought it looked like a girl, but they told me to send it into the Echo.

“I’m quite amazed by it really, there seems to be a bit of colour into it and I know it’s a cloud formation so people will see different things.”
