SANDWORLD has sent its congratulations to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge in the form of a sculpture following the birth of their daughter.

The Weymouth attraction has included a sand sculpture of the royal family as part of its Best of British exhibition.

The sculpture, designed by Daniel Doyle, includes the Queen, Prince Philip, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince George and his new sister. It also features a message of congratulations.

Mark Anderson, co-owner of Sandworld, said: "We decided we would be premature and go ahead with the full family sculpture, featuring the new baby.

"If we had done it without her, we would have had to cover the whole sculpture up or have to go back and recarve what was there."

Mr Anderson said the sculpture had received a very good reaction from members of the public.

He said: "I think William and Kate are as popular as William's mother. It's a very enjoyed part of the exhibition."
