FIREFIGHTERS responded to a report of a chimney fire in Broadwindsor.
A worried resident alerted the service at around 7.50pm on Sunday.
A retained crew from Beaminster responded and attended the house along Redlands Lane.
After confirming the chimney was alight, crews used a chimney kit from the hearth and kept a close eye on surrounding thatch properties to ensure the fire didn't spread.
Firefighters used a thermal imaging camera in the roof space of the affected property to check the fire was confined to the chimney.
The fire was brought under control by around 8.30pm but crews remained on scene for some time to monitor the temperatures within the chimney.
