NOMINATIONS are being invited for candidates wishing to stand in the Rodwell division of Dorset County Council.
The seat is vacant following the resignation of Dan Brember who said he was stepping down due to work commitments.
Mr Brember took the Weymouth Rodwell seat for Labour in 2013.
He told the Echo last month that due to his work he couldn't give the attention the council role requires.
Mr Brember called for his replacement on the county council to ‘help safeguard’ Dorset’s youth services.
It is expected a by-election will take place on Thursday, November 12 if more than one candidate stands.
Nomination forms can be obtained from the West Dorset District Council offices at South Walks House, Dorchester. Those papers must be delivered to the Returning Officer at the same offices no later than 4pm on Friday, October 16.
