A NEW stage at Dorset's Camp Bestival promises a 'steampunk feast for the eyes'.

The science-fiction movement which has inspired music and fashion has a stage all to itself at this year's festival, held in the grounds of Lulworth Castle.

Organisers say Oberon’s Observatory is a 'jaw-dropping stage' brimming with everything from Dorset’s finest country punk and all-girl garage rock to story-telling musicians and interactive theatre shows.

Festival founder Rob da Bank said: “Never ones to rest on our laurels, we have another in a raft of brand new stages at Camp Bestival.

"If you’ve ever marvelled at the wonders of our Caravanserai area then you’re gonna love the steampunk spaceship fantasy boat ride of Oberon’s Observatory.

"From punk to garage folk to electronica it’s all going off on Oberon’s!”

Live music acts include Mr B The Gentleman Rhymer, Old Sea Brigade, Laura Oakes, Graceland, Cut A Shine Hoedown, and Thrill Collins.

Family shows include The Two Man Travelling Medicine Show and Nick Cope Family Concert.

Camp Bestival, from July 27-31, celebrates its 10th anniversary this year and has a theme of pop stars and rock stars.
