HOT meals will soon be enjoyed by pupils who spent an afternoon sampling delicious dishes.

Pupils at Radipole Primary School had a visit from school meal service providers Drill Chef and Hugh Judd from Beef and Lamb Executive to choose which hot meals they liked best.

The visit was part of a new initiative to provide hot healthy meals to children.

Headteacher Veronique Singer said: “We started our hot meal initiative on May 8.

“We think that a good hot meal can often be better than a packed lunch.

“The food is made up of good quality ingredients.

“All 423 children spent part of the day tasting the food and they loved it.”

Taste tests included meals of spaghetti Bolognese and delicious apple cake and short cake.

The children spent time listening to talks from Mr Judd about healthy hot food.

Ms Singer added: “It is brilliant, the day was really good for the children and we hope to encourage healthy eating at our school.

“All the food we tasted was really nice and the children agreed.”
