THE funeral of the young man killed in a head-on smash near Blandford earlier this month, takes place today.

Friends and family of Ben Andrews are expected to pack out Blandford’s St Peter and St Paul’s Church for the 12.30pm service, ahead of a private committal.

The 19-year-old driver died after his VW Golf was in collision with another car on the A354, just north of Blandford’s Pimperne roundabout.

Three other young people were injured in the accident, but none of them sustained life-threatening injuries. Ben’s devastated mum and dad, Paul and Sam, and his siblings Harry and Molly have asked for donations to be made to Julia’s House children’s hospice in his memory.
