A CELEBRATION of French music and family fun have been included in the packed programme for this year’s Cerne Abbas Music Festival.
The renowned Gaudier Ensemble will be making their regular trip to the village from June 7 to June 10 to play a series of concerts in St Mary’s Church.
On Saturday, June 9, the gifted performers will be setting three of Roald Dahl’s Dirty Beast poems to music in a concert designed to appeal to a family audience.
The concert starts at 11.20am and will also feature a range of other short works for wind, strings and piano.
On the Sunday night from 6pm there will be a concert devoted to French music in recognition of the 150th anniversary of the birth of Claude Debussy and the centenary of the birth of Jean Francaix.
