PEOPLE suffering from memory loss across Portland are invited to attend Memory Cafe and Singing for the Brain sessions.
Island Community Action (ICA) and the Alzheimer’s Society are working in partnership to deliver a weekly provision for people living with dementia and their carers on the island.
Sessions run every Wednesday morning, from 10am to 11.30am at the Community 2000 Centre, Easton.
The next Memory Café events will be held on June 6 and 20.
These fortnightly sessions provide people an opportunity to come together for specialist advice and peer support.
The next Singing for the Brain will be held on June 13 and 27, run by a group of musical volunteers and Alzheimer’s Society staff.
These musical sessions use singing to bring people together in a friendly and stimulating social environment that encourages individual expression and socialisation.
