A SINGLE mother who threw a plastic glass in one young woman’s face and assaulted another has received a suspended prison sentence.

Kirsty Roberts, also known as Kirsty Druitt, was sentenced at Dorchester Crown Court for the offences at Dolce Vita nightclub in Weymouth in the early hours of December 11, 2011.

The 21-year-old hairdresser had pleaded guilty to assault occasioning actual bodily harm and assault by beating.

Jennie Rickman, prosecuting, said Roberts was outside the toilets when she threw the plastic glass, striking Charlotte Pearce above the eye. Miss Pearce was left with a cut above the eyebrow that may result in a permanent scar.

After that incident, Roberts pushed Shelley Eades in the toilet.

Robert Pawson, mitigating, said Roberts, of Fraser Avenue, Weymouth, had got into a confrontation with a group of women.

She had also had a drink thrown in her face.

Mr Pawson said Roberts was sorry to hear that Miss Pearce could be left with a scar.

Judge Roger Jarvis sentenced Roberts to a total of 18 weeks in prison for the two offences, suspended for one year.

She was also ordered to carry out 120 hours of unpaid work, given a three-month curfew and was ordered to pay compensation of £600 to Miss Pearce and £300 to Miss Eades.
